The profession of an #architect goes far beyond the design of plans… His work is three-dimensional and even more!

The architect is a designer and an advisor who accompanies his client throughout the process of realization of a project, from the definition of the needs until the occupation of the building.
He develops a project considering the constraints of the site (topography of the site, sunlight, views to be privileged, …), the needs, the program of the customer, the municipal requirements, the standards relating to the safety of the occupants and the budgetary limit while coordinating all the speakers: consultants, engineers and specialists required by the project. Depending on the client’s desired involvement, the architect may also provide site supervision to ensure that the building is conform to the contract documents and that it will provide the expected performance and durability. He is, in a way, a conductor of the orchestra.
It's due to the architect’s participation that the building will be able to meet the ideal of durability, efficiency, comfort and aesthetics that one hope for, while always ensuring that the collective interest is respected.

In Quebec, the architect must be a member of the Ordre des architectes du Québec (OAQ) to be able to use the title and practise his profession. The OAQ ensures the maintenance of a high level of competence of its members by using various control and supervision mechanisms, specifically by the obligation of continuous training.

Retaining the services of an architect for your project is far from being a necessary evil, it's certainly an extraordinary added value!

Supervision is not mandatory, but it’s a great way to protect your #realestate investment!
